Background/Target InformationCD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and has two Ig like domains. The CD19 molecule is expressed on 100% of the peripheral B cells as defined by expression of kappa or lamda light chains. It appears to be expressed on myeloid leukemia cells, particularly those of monocytic lineage. Leukemia phenotype studies have demonstrated that the earliest and broadest B cell restricted antigen is the CD19 antigen. The receptor for CD19 is an important functional regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation. It is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias. For Research Use Only. Immunohistochemical analysis of CD19 was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat spleen using mouse Anti-Rat CD19 Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-24372) at 25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using a 557-conjugated Anti-mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to B-cells inside the germinal layers.
